Stellan Skarsgard: I’m behind …

He’s a prospective father of eight, has secured Sweden’s acting future with his sons, and is true to Stockholm despite the fact that he almost never make any movies in Sweden.

In a candid interview, Stellan Skarsgard talks about why he is disappointed with the Oscar jury, celebrates costar Rooney Mara and getting to grips with what he really thinks about his sons who are about to conquer the world.

- I’m jealous. They have passed me, already, he says.

The film company wants to interview about a six months old film “The girl with the dragon tattoo”, which is released on DVD in the Nordic countries 25 April. So we’re talking about it. But not at first.

Would you like to work more in Sweden?

- Yes, it would be fun to work at home. I’ve worked with von Trier at home. He is Danish, but the recording was in Trollhattan, anyway, he says, laughing.

Think Swedish filmmakers aren’t calling because you’re too big for Sweden?
